09/05/2025 Mario sucessfully defended his PhD at the University of Ulm. Congratulations!
18/03/2025 Vibhav's article The phase stability of InP(001) surfaces upon oxygen exposure from first principles has appeared in RSC Advances. In this work, we aim to identify the most stable surface phases of InP(001) in contact with oxygen. DOI:10.1039/D5RA00855G.
30/01/2025 Aya's article CO2 Reduction on Liquid GaInSn-Metal: Dynamics of the Electrode-Electrolyte Interface has appeared in ChemCatChem. Here, we look at the complex structural dynamics of a liquid-metal electrocatalyst in contact with an electrolyte. DOI:10.1002/cctc.202401740.
22/01/2025 Holger's article The InP(100) Surface Phase Diagram: From the Gas Phase to the Electrochemical Environment on assessing the stability of InP surface phases in electrochemical environments via the computational hydrogen electrode has appeared in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces. In this work, we also introduce a novel type of phase diagram that colour-codes the stability of a given phase with respect to its competing, i.e. energetically neighbouring, phase. DOI:10.1021/acsami.4c20370.
14/01/2025 Moritz Adam's work Land conversions not climate effects are the dominant indirect consequenceof sun-driven CO2 capture, conversion, and sequestration has appeared in Environmental Research Letters. DOI:10.1088/1748-9326/ada971.
27/11/2024 Daniel's article on the electrocatalytic conversion of CO2 to solid carbon has appeared in the Journal of Physical Chemistry C. From CO2 to Solid Carbon: Reaction Mechanism, Active Species, and Conditioning the Ce-Alloyed GaInSn Catalyst. DOI:10.1021/acs.jpcc.4c05482.
22/10/2024 Two articles of Mario on post-lithium battery systems have gone online: In Magnesium and Aluminum in Contact with Liquid Battery Electrolytes: Ion Transport through Interphases and in the Bulk we look at transport mechanisms through interphases and -faces. DOI:10.1021/acsmaterialslett.4c01589. Operando Investigation of Al Plating Regimes on HOPG in [EMImCl]:AlCl3 by Electrochemical Reflection Anisotropy Spectroscopy, on the other hand, shows how RAS can be used to study charging and discharging mechanisms in a time-resolved manner. DOI:10.1002/batt.202400610.
17/07/2024 Erica Schmitt will receive this year's Försterpreis for her work on solar water splitting during the Kepler lecture on 24.07.2024. Congratulations!
28/06/2024 Margot Guidat has, as the first Ph.D. student of our group, defended her thesis on electrochemical RAS. Congratulations!
